Do not choose the biggest department automatically

The biggest team may not produce the most useful station.

A department with 200 people who work mostly independently can create less shared traffic than a collaboration building used by several smaller groups.

Look for where work overlaps.

Meeting centers.

Training space.

Shared lunch areas.

Common corridors between buildings.

Those places can give a two-week trial broader exposure.

Let employees cross the department line

A good common station can create a natural small break between groups that otherwise operate separately.

That benefit is difficult to measure from headcount alone.

The first goal is still operational: put the equipment where enough people can use it conveniently.

Use the trial to reveal the permanent map

Track cups and note which employee groups use the station.

If one nearby building barely participates because the walk is inconvenient, that is useful information.

A permanent second location may make sense.

Keep Raleigh and Durham sites separate
